NPM: Crochet Ball Jointed Doll

So lately I have been obsessed with my new ball jointed dolls or bjd's while I was waiting for my first two bjd's to arrive I found this amazing crochet pattern here: http://byhookbyhand.blogspot.com/search/label/Bleuette (you have to look on the left side of the page and click on "Crochet Bleuette doll Pattern" it is a PDF that you download. Well it took me forever mostly because I was waiting on safety eyes for her. But she is finally done, er well she's missing hair, and some clothes o_0 but her clothing is cut and waiting for me to sew and I have some wig stuff to make her a cute wig. But I have been wanting to show you guys her for so long I couldn't wait anymore!
Without further ado I present Penelope
Here Penelope is chillin' on my shoulder, she's so stinkin cute even without her hair x)

Autumn has been so excited about her new wig (I made her wig myself! Keep in mind I haven't styled it yet... lots of wand orders on my etsy shop have been keeping me busy! Oh I also made her dress :D) that she couldn't wait to show it off to Penelope

Poor Lucy-loo she has no wig either :( her hair is sitting on my desk chair waiting for me to have time to weft it!) She wanted to meet Penelope (also Autumn's wig is all out of wack here o_0)

my two baldie-beans wanted a picture together. Lucy loves her new pal Penelope!

Penelope is based off a Bleuette ball jointed doll and as such her pattern give her 'joints' that you can sew with strong clear thread- it mentions it in the pattern. But I didn't want to do that, so I whip stitched her together, I found that if I didn't make it too tight (like her shoulders) she can still move, so Penelope might not be striking and crazy poses but she can wave and all that. So I'm happy! Her eyes are smaller (size 8) the pattern calls for 9's but I didn't have any... Her checks color is actually from a neon pink crayon that I rubbed over and over until it was the right shade. It's hard to see in some pictures but it's amazing in person!
I will upload pictures of her with her wig when it's done!
I may try my hand at making a smaller version of her at some point!

New stuff coming to my etsy shop soon! Be sure to check it out :D
Thanks for reading to the end <3

Sneak Peak: BJD's

So we had people over tonight and I didn't get a chance to finish Lucy and Autumn's clothes, I'm picking up wig supplies tomorrow I hope!
BUT
I figured I would give you a sneak peak of my new girls and some of the items that will be added to my etsy shop :D

Please excuse doll nudity, I did not have clothing ready x)

Finally they are here! I was SO excited. Autumn is on the left, Lucy is on the right. Autumn is a Obitsu 27 cm with Pixy style head with Hazel eyes (I may have ruined her head with a crappy matte finish spray Need MSC!!!!... grrrr) Lucy is a Hujoo Baby Suve, 12 cm little love, she has blue eyes.
"Oh NO" says Lucy "Autumn we have nothing of ours here at this new place!"

Autumn says "There there my little one, I brought us our suitcases filled with material our new mommy can use for our clothes... There may even be a special surprise in your suitcase for you!" [Yes I did make them suitcases! I will have to take a better picture of them, they turned out super cute!!]

"YAY!" Lucy squeals "My little hamster friend 'Nibbles' is here!"

<3 nibbles!

Lucy checks out the rest of her suitcase "this blue yarn is SO soft, mommy can you make me a sweater out of this? Oh and look at the cute fabric, that will be a pretty sundress!"

"Oh but I love this yarn the best, can you make me a hat right now!?"

"THIS IS PERFECT! I love how soft it is, and if fits just right!!" [Side note I will be selling these adorable little hats VERY soon on etsy!]

Lucy felt a little camera shy... but I had to get some 'family' photo's to commemorate the day they came home!:

WELCOME HOME

Thanks for check them out, I am so excited to be part of this wonderful family of bjd owners. I am so glad I got these two and can't wait to add a few more tiny's to my collection!
New pictures, new store items, new YouTube video's, new Tweets and TON'S more coming soon!

*yawn* goodnight everyone!

RTT: Harriets Travels Part One

So I originally wanted to start posting Harriet's travel pictures earlier this week, but life got in the way :( so I figured that I would post some of them today as my other random thought was going to be a bit of a rant about boring things. SO without further ado Harriet's trip to Canada:

Harriet checks out the view of Quebec from our hotel window. Such a pretty city!!

<-- Harriet poses with a sheep outside one of the awesome wool stores. "Hey I'm made from your wool!!"

Below Harriet tries one of the hand made socks on for size... Looks too big!

Harriet and I walk around Quebec city. The picture on the left is the Hotel de Frontenac, where we stayed while we visited. It looks a bit like Hogwarts don't you think?! The picture on the right is actually a mural, not a real building. It's amazing to see in person, Harriet wants to live in the building with the green roof on the right!

Harriet and I thought it was funny how they wrote the gas prices! On the right we pose with a Canadian bear mountie! Eh?
We ate out at a restaurant in the lower city, I forget the name of it (and can't seem to find it on google) but the whole place was done up in zebra print (if anyone knows please let me know!) The food was amazing but Harriet preferred the mints!

No Harriet don't open the bottled water!!! Harriet makes a long distance phone call on a modernized pay phone (it had a place to insert a credit card!)

Harriet enjoyed the poofy pillows on the beds at the Frontenac

Harriet and I pose at a scenic spot overlooking the water. Harriet made some new friends in one of the shops "Please can't we take it home!?"

Harriet checks out a cannon ball that has been stuck in this tree for decades. It was fired at some point during a battle when Canada protected Quebec from British troops. Amazingly the tree grew around the cannon ball and is still alive today, and let me tell you it is HUGE. I found the fire hydrants here to be cute, Harriet posed with this little red and yellow one.

Harriet checks out some of the shops in the Lower City, they're so quaint :) Harriet takes a break from all her walking to sit on the steps of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, a beautiful church that dates back to 1723!!
On our last day we decided to order room service, Harriet was SO impressed by all the yummy food! She loved how the chocolate was shaped like a castle, just like the hotel. But Harriet is a girl after my own heart, her favorite breakfast food was croissants (below)! YUM!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures, the trip was amazing!! I'll post some more vacation pictures of Harriet ASAP!
Until then!

NPM: Pachirisu Crochet

So it's that time of the week again, new project monday! I had been given this pattern by a friend and asked if I could make it for her mom for her birthday. Unfortunately I got her birthday wrong and thought it was this last Friday, but it was actually last Wednesday. I have to go bring this late gift to her ASAP! But I thought I would share the project with you all!

As you may notice Pachirisu doesn't have a mouth yet, I'm not 100% sure what I wanted to do for it's mouth and have been playing around with a bunch of different ideas, but for now he's a quiet little guy :P I was given this pattern already printed out, but was able to find the pattern again here. He is actually REALLY large. You can't tell by the pictures, but he measures about 8.5 inches tall!! I wasn't expecting that!!
Anyway, here is my version of Pachirisu :) Enjoy (and Happy Birthday Mrs. Sullivan!!)

The only complaint I have with this pattern is that his tail is VERY heavy and doesn't stand up quite as nicely as the pictures in the pattern show. Maybe I did something wrong, I will say this, the pattern is written VERY well and is easy to follow and complete. I learned quite a few tricks while using this pattern for my own Avatar/Harry Potter patterns that I'm working on!!

I love the little arms, and the way the tail stripe and head stripe meet up perfectly!!

I find his face adorable lol, and I am proud of how neat my crochet looks on film (and in person!) hard to believe I just taught myself to crochet a few short weeks ago!!

I am about halfway through another pattern, and am about 25% finished with my first pattern (I hope!) I have to see how it all meshes together!! But for now, practice makes perfect!!
Just so you know, there will not be a New Project Monday next week as I am going to be on vacation! YAY! But if you want to keep up with what I'm working on/doing while away check me out on twitter: https://twitter.com/ButterflyAttic
Harriet is coming with me on vacation, I'll post pictures on twitter of the adventure's she is having!

RTT On Friday!

Hey everyone
Oh man, so I realized this morning that I didn't post a random thought for yesterday :O I have been crazy busy tearing my room apart and putting it back together. I decided that enough was enough and it was time to get rid of stuff. 5 years of college and 1.5 years in my masters program = a TON of papers.
So since today is Friday and it's been a while since we've last seen Hank or Harriet I figured now would be a good time to post some more pictures of them!

The other day Harriet and Hank decided to go house shopping! They decided it was important to have a place to call there own. Here is the house that they both really liked!

Next they decided to pick some furniture and nom noms to chew on... They had a LOT of choices!

Hank really likes this bed, so they decided to get it for the new house!! But Harriet had other ideas....

She bought a brand new china cabinet to hold all their dishes, (yes of COURSE they have dishes!!)

Here Harriet is with her finished cabinet, she loves that the doors match her bow! She can't wait to show Hank what she did when he gets home from Army drill!!
Speaking of Army Drill Harriet is so happy when she got a picture from Hank the other day:

Here is Hank at drill, hanging out on his bunk with his buddy "Button" (the bunny lol)
Aww aren't they cute?! The other day my little cousin came over and played with Harriet for a long time, I am now in the process of making her a blue version (she's 4 and her favorite color is blue... naturally when I asked what color it should be that was her answer lol) Here's one last picture of her with Harriet :)
Cuties :D

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!
